Device for those who have a try this update

PowerVu is a conditional access system for digital television developed by Scientific Atlanta.[1] It is used for professional broadcasting, notably by Retevision, Bloomberg Television, Discovery Channel, AFRTS ABS-CBN GMA Network and American Forces Network. It is also used by cable companies to prevent viewing by unauthorized viewers.
PowerVu has decoders that decode signals from certain satellites for cable distribution services. These decoders can also be used just like the FTA (Free-To-Air) satellite receivers if properly configured. PowerVu was considered very secure since it uses a complicated system to authorize each PowerVu receiver and trace its history of ownership and usage[citation needed]. Most PowerVu users are professional cable or satellite companies, using the service and equipment for signal redistribution, because regular users cannot afford it.

Centrally and Securely Control Encoders and Decoders

The Cisco PowerVu Network Centre (PNC) is the heart of the PowerVu product family. The highly-reliable PNC is a sophisticated, yet easy-to-use system that provides network management, security, decoder management, and advanced revenue protection.
The PNC is designed to meet the analog and digital content distribution needs of programmers, private networks, other network operators, and users who need to automatically control multiple encoders in a redundant system. This allows them to securely transmit video, audio, and data to a large receiver population. The PNC 11.1 introduces the Cisco Digital Content Manager (DCM) and PowerVu Conditional Access Manager (PCAM) as part of the PowerVu Next Generation (PVNG) platform. It now offers Simulcrypt support, in addition to the traditional PowerVu encryption methods.
Network Management
Control all PowerVu video, audio, data, and other ancillary PowerVu services of your uplink. The Cisco PNC allows you to configure and control your PowerVu network devices, including PowerVu encoders, multiplexers, and advanced modulators.
Control who is authorized to access your programs. Conditional access and encryption help ensure that your transmissions are secure. The PNC offers a reliable, commercial security system.
Decoder Management
Control where your information is being received. The PNC addresses all PowerVu receivers in the field. You will have all of the information necessary to address PowerVu decoders for specific service authorization.

Features and Capabilities

The system's versatile, standard capabilities include:
  • Support for MEPG-2, MPEG-4, digital video broadcasting (DVB), and other industry standards, such as Data Encryption Standard (DES) and DVB scrambling
  • Program or event scheduling
  • Conditional access
  • Bandwidth management
  • Flexible control of encoders and decoder (250 K decoder database)
